Andy Smithson No "BUTS" about it.

Do you ever give your kids compliments or praise or any kind of positive reinforcement and it just doesn't seem like they are responding to it. You find yourself falling back into old habits of unrealistic punishments and frustrated boughts of negative words and actions. You say to yourself, "I tried to be a nice guy but they just don't act appropriately. They still act out and don't do what I've asked them to do." I've worked with so many parents who say, " When I don't yell and get after them,… Continue

Andy Smithson Shamu and your kid

My wife and I just came back from a wonderful vacation in San Diego, California. While we were there we enjoyed one of the most popular tourist spots: Sea World. It was fantastic! We got to see all the amazing sea animals in action. We loved the Shamu shows and especially the dolphins and sea lions. While we were watching the newest show at sea world entitled, "Believe," I saw some amazing things happen in that show that I believe can be applied to our purpose as parents. By comparing your chil… Continue

Most parents will have a little anxiety about their child’s return to school, especially if it’s their child’s first day of school. Bob Sanders Feedback on photo books?

I am looking to make a photo book of my kids and was wondering if anyone has made use of a similar kind of online service. There are a bunch of sites out there that all seem to promise professional quality photo books at affordable prices, but surely they all can't be equal. I would appreciate any feedback - either positive or negative - about these site (Shutterfly, Kodak.com, etc). Continue

Michael Moore Which Operating System is best?

Since reading through the forum and the many comments, I wonder just who uses what operating system, and what they consider to be strengths and weaknesses with them. It's quite clear that windows is the prevalent OS, mainly because that's what you get when you buy a computer, but I have seen several comments to Linux and it's derivitives, Ubuntu, Mandriva, etc., so it begs the question somewhat! What interests me with this is what the various operating systems offer compared with the others. I… Continue

Arnout Ponsioen manageing favourites

In the beta version, it was possible to manage your childrens favorites (deleting), now it's not possible anymore. As favorites change over time, this feature must be available. Also as the screencaps are of poor qualty: many times I get blank screencaps. This is also a reason to delete some favorites (for children unable to read, these blank favourites are meaningless). So, some improvements must be made. Continue

That’s why Glubble has partnered with Highlights Magazine, the much-loved magazine for young kids, on a survey exploring parental involvement in their young children’s online activitie… Continue
