Glubble Parents

Where Families Play

Somehow Glubble has become "uninstalled" on my each of the accounts that my children use. When they start FireFox it starts on an unlocked google search page with unlimited access. When I manually "log on" to Glubble on each child's account, the "Glubble Bar" does not appear. Thus, I cannot tell FireFox to start in Child mode and etc.

I have installed the new version but nothing changes.

This is frustrating, especially since I cannot find where / how to contact Glubble technical support like I was able to do previously

Hi Thomas,

sorry tho hear you are having problems with the installation. We will look into this immediately, but in the meantime, can you tell me what operating system you are using and what version of Firefox?

Did you do anything specific when Glubble disappeared? Were you installing or upgrading at the time?

best regards,

Alexander

Alexander,

I am using FireFox 3.5.4. on Windows XP Pro. We were not installing/upgrading, I just noticed that glubble was no longer working on the children's accounts and could not re-load glubble. I suspect that I will need to uninstall and re-install glubble. Interestingly, on the parent account on the same computer, glubble is working properly.

Tom,

did you try to restart Firefox? I still cant figure out from your description what exactly is happening. Do you have a Glubble toolbar in adult mode? Can you access the family page?
If you then click on the kids page icon, or switch to a kids profile, does the kids browser appear (or not)?

Best regards,

Alexander

Alexander,

Yes, we have tried to re-start FireFox several times with no change. When I am using one of the children's accounts, I can access the family page by signing in on the Glubble web page. I can switch to the children's page, but when I log off or close the browser and then relaunch the browser it opens on the "home page" (right now the Glubble page) but not the Family Page. However, there is no Glubble Toolbar and I cannot get FireFox to launch directly into the family page.

Thomas,

if you can see the family page (see screenshot),

and you can also switch to kids mode (see another screenshot), then I have to assume that the Glubble software is functioning. Otherwise you could never go to Kids mode.

In that case, could it be that the toolbar is hidden by accident? Could you try and see if the toolbar can re-appear again.

To do this, click on the "View menu of Firefox, and then "toolbars". See if you can select Glubble to appear again (see screenshot).

This is what the toolbar should look like (see above).

Let me know,

Alexander

Alexander,

I cannot switch to "Kid" mode from the family wall even when I "switch" to the kids. All that shows up is the family wall with one of the kids instead of one of the adults. The "view" menu does not have a "Glubble Toolbar".

Alexander,

Uninstalling the old version of glubble add-on and re-installing was what was required. Some discussion with the children found that they discovered the FireFox "Safe Mode" in the All Programs button from the "Start" menus. This permitted them to disable glubble (along with all of the other add ons). Removing FireFox from the "All Programs" list on the "Start" menu may slow them down. However, keeping bright children who feel a need to disable glubble because it does not permit them to access favorite web sites (like WebKinz) is a continuing struggle.

That was quite clever of them ;-)

I'm glad you figured out what happened. Our goal is to make kids feel that their Internet is more fun than the Internet that their parents are using. If you have any tips to make the experience more interesting to them, let us know.

Best regards,

Alexander
